HOW TO MEASURE
Please measure your dog
carefully. Always use a tape measure and get someone to
help you. Your dog must be standing as straight as possible. The
"Vital Statistics" can be quite different when
measured sitting or lying down. We require your measurements
in inches please. Note - the 'A' measurement determines
the price of the coat. |
STEP
1
C measurement
|
Measure
the head or neck whichever is the largest.
Our coats are fixed at the front so the neck opening has
to be large enough to go over your dogs head comfortably.
Make a noose out of the tape measure at a size that comfortably
goes over the head and slip over the head as if it was a
collar, this should sit around the top of the shoulder blades
as shown. Please note: this is NOT the collar size which
is usually further up the neck. |
|
Base
of neck to base of tail
With the tape measure around
the neck as above for C measurement, from where the tape
touches the spine at the shoulder blades to the base of
the tail is the A measurement. |
|
The
Largest part of the chest
Around the chest at the deepest part,
just behind the front legs
|
|
Centre
of chest to rear of back leg
Place the end of the tape measure at the centre if
the chest where the name tag normally hangs and measure
around the top of the front leg, along the side of the body
to the rear of the back leg. |
Coat measurements example
|
Sam is wearing a standard 18" unlined coat to demonstrate
the difference between the A and D measurements.
Sams statistics are
A 18
B 24
C 16
D 22
|
 |
The same coat as shown above on Sam
The A measurement is 18"
The D measurement is the total length of the coat 22".
Please Note!
Tha D measurement HAS to be longer than
the A measurement, because it is the length of the dog
when viewed side on PLUS half the width of the dog when
viewed from the front.
